Homeward bound!

In two weeks I shall be on the sandy beaches of the Mississippi River, drinking a beer, spending time with my family, and next to my man in Lansing, Iowa.  Sounds ideal! Can't wait to come home to Iowa for Labor Day weekend.  A.J. and I are flying in on Friday to Omaha, NE and then renting an Enterprise Rent-A-Car, of course, and driving the rest of the way.

The whole trip will include:
swinging thru DSM for lunch with A.J.'s rents, continuing on to Cedar Falls for dinner with family at my grandma's, a night out with friends--that's just Friday--then heading to Lansing on Saturday morning to see my rents and more family while relaxing and having a blast on the Ole Miss, Sunday heading back down to DSM for A.J.'s friend Russ's wedding, then out with Adam, then Monday afternoon after spending time with A.J.'s parents driving back to Omaha to fly out at 6:45pm!  JAM PACKED WEEKEND!

I'm seeing puppies in my future!

The plan is to go to the Pikes Peak Humane Society tomorrow. A.J. finally said we could go look! :) I'm SUPER excited!  I looked at the website at the pictures of the puppies and there are some cutie patooties on there!  I'll let you know what happens...I could have a puppy before the weekend is over!!!!!!

What I do outside my 50-52hours of work each week:

These last few weeks have been pretty eventful after work considering I only have 3hours to eat dinner, take a shower, and have a life before I have to go to bed.  I went to visit my mom on Monday, went to the chiropractor on Tuesday, talked to my friend Alex Thompson(http://alexandralyn88.blogspot.com/) on the phone Wednesday, went to the chiro on Thursday, then went out to the bars for the first time with George and Chandler Friday night--whoa late night.  Then this week I fit in going out to dinner with George and Chandler one night, going to the chiro a couple times again, and going out with A.J. to dinner last night.  Not to exciting for the average human being, but it was a good couple of weeks for this human being!

Other than that, I like to watch Grey's Anatomy, Greek, Wipeout, and various movies.  Just so you're keeping up, in the last two weeks I have watched around 3 or 4 episodes of Grey's, no Greek, one Wipeout, Morning Glory, Anywhere But Here, and You Again.

As you can see, kinda lazy too :)

A.J. and I have friends!! :)

This weekend so far as been really fun! Saturday we slept in and then went to an Enterprise employee picnic.  We ate plenty of food, ripped our feet and legs up playing sand volley ball, and played a game or two of 500.  THEN..here comes the exciting part...we got asked to come drink some beers by the pool with Chandler and George!! Okay I know this sounds like a small thing, but let me tell you...WE HAVE FRIENDS! Haha.  It was fun to relax, laugh, and talk with those two.  I'm sure if Chandler and George ever read this they are going to want to stop being my friend, but I hope they are secretly just as excited to make some friends! :)

As for today, Christina (my sister) asked me to go with her to a photo shoot on inner beauty.  I agreed not knowing what I was getting myself into.  It was a lot of fun actually.  Look for our photos on jemmstudio.blogspot.com

Now off to sonic for some dinner...bring on the burgers and slushies!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRESLEY!

My nephew turns 5 today! I sent him a Colorado "souvenir" shirt that glows in the dark wrapped with lots of candy in it!  The idea is that he rips it open and candy falls everywhere like a pinata!! FUN!! ....especially for a 5-year-old!  Man, it sucks that I'm missing it.  I miss all my nephews and my niece.  :(  Happy Birthday Presley!   I love you!

Catching Up

This weekend was fun! A.J. and I went to Elitch Gardens (6 flags) with two of my co-workers, Chandler and George, and George's kids.  George's kids Maliya and Jalen were hilarious and very friendly.  With the intense heat, standing for hours, and violent loopdy loops, I only made it two rides before I down and out.  **LAME** Thank you, Mom!  It all worked out though.  As A.J. and I were in search of air conditioning, we found a very cool theater where we watched various acts of very nimble people do crazy things with their bodies.  It was amazing! An hour and a half passes, and I'm ready for a second round!  We met up with Chandler, George and the kids and took a ride on the Ghost Blaster.  On this ride each persons mission is to kill the most ghosts with their laser gun.  I WON smoking A.J.'s score 1140pts to 320pts!  Finished up at the park with hamburgers for the adults and turkey legs for the kids!

Now for my work story today!!!!!  I just want to start of by saying this is not Europe, and I am proud to be an American (where at least I know I'm free)!!  ALSO, FOR PETE'S SAKE DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT WHIP YOUR BREAST OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN IN MY OFFICE TO BREAST FEED YOUR KID.  Oh yes, this happened today.  There was no stopping it.  I then watched--along with my other very amused co-workers--as my male co-worker had to proceed with explaining our protection packages, checking for damage, and getting her signature with breast feeding in process.  Enough said.

Today I dropped my car off at the Kia dealership here in Colorado Springs.  It wasn't working right and has 92,000 miles on it and just wanted to see what could be done.  The findings: new timing belt, transmission flush, fuel filter, fuel injector flush, air filter, alignment, and new spark plugs.  Total: $1040.  The service guy told me most of it could wait, but the timing belt needs to be replaced asap!  I was pretty close to going with them instead of my mom's friends auto shop until their service took a turn for the worse.  I planned to get my car back today and called them to ask them to figure out what we could do with my keys because I work past their hours.  The plan was for me to drive one of our vehicles up there to trade them because we had a Kia that needed work done on it.  Never got a call back.  Called 5mins before close to make a last ditch effort and all the service employees had gone home--all the people with access to my keys.  So, there I was stranded at work and pissed off :)  No more business for the Kia dealership!

My story begins...

enterprise  (ˈɛntəˌpraɪz) [Click for IPA pronunciation guide]

n
readiness to embark on new ventures; boldness and energy

I just moved from Cedar Falls, IA to Colorado Springs, CO about 2 months ago now. This all started because Christina (http://designerintraining.blogspot.com) wanted to know how my life in Colorado is going.  I just started my career with Enterprise Rent-A-Car (7 weeks &counting) .   In addition, I have dreams of having my own enterprise: a dance studio.

Thus came the name Brandi's Enterprise.  It will be fun to see how this all plays out...
